The Journey to My New Longarm
After years of quilting on smaller machines, bringing home my new longarm truly feels like a dream come true. This journey has been a long time coming, and I'm thrilled to share a bit about the experience!
The trip to Iowa to pick up my new Nolting longarm was an adventure. One of the highlights was meeting Melissa, who went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable with the QuiltMagine automation before we left. I got a one-on-one crash course on the machine, covering everything from basic operation to routine maintenance. Having that hands-on experience right away made me feel so much more confident.
Once we got the longarm home, we wasted no time setting it up. I’ve already quilted a few quilts on it, and it’s amazing how smooth it runs! Last night, we took some time to re-level the frame and adjust the carriage axles, and now it’s running flawlessly.
There’s still a bit to learn, especially when it comes to the automation software. I plan to take classes with Joyce Blowers at Delightful Quilting and Sewing in Avon, NY. Joyce is the go-to expert on all things QuiltMagine (and IQ), and I know training with her will make a big difference.
Even though I've been quilting for over 10 years, this new longarm is a major upgrade, packed with features I’ve never used before. I’m taking the next couple of weeks to get familiar with everything so I’m fully prepared before opening for business.
I can’t wait to dive deeper into this new chapter and see what amazing quilts come off this machine. Stay tuned!
