I believe there are no rules in quilting, just guidelines.
Hello! I am Kayla. I started quilting while on bed rest while pregnant with my second son, after some miserable fails at knitting and crochet. After that first baby quilt I was hooked!
Quilting started as a creative outlet for me, but it became so much more. It’s been a source of comfort, joy and healing- helping me navigate life’s challenges. There’s something about the rhythm of the stitching and the freedom of creating whatever I want that brings a sense of peace and accomplishment.
About me
For over a decade, I have been quilting with a domestic machine on a frame, constantly pushing the limits of my creativity despite the constraints of an 8-inch throat space (4 inch pantographs). Even with these limitations, I was honored to have one of my quilts accepted into the prestigious International Quilt Festival in Houston.
As my skills evolved, I realized it was time for an upgrade—not only to expand my artistic possibilities but also to professionally finish quilts for others. Since I couldn’t accept customer quilts on my mom’s machine, I spent a year and a half researching the best longarm quilting machine on the market. My search led me to the Nolting Diamond, a top-tier, dependable machine that ensures I can provide the highest quality quilting services.
With this investment, I’m thrilled to bring your quilts to life with precision, artistry, and the best equipment available.
I love making all styles of quilts. Changing it up from quilt to quilt is part of the fun. Some days I’m drawn to bold, modern designs and other times I’m all about the charm of traditional quilts. For me, quilting is about exploration and creativity. I don’t like to box myself into making just one style.
For the longarming part of quilting, my heart is drawn toward dense show quilting- the kind of stitching that transforms a quilt into a true work of art. I realize not everyone wants their quilts quilted to death, and no matter how intricate my quilting style gets, I’ll always come back to the practical, well-loved quilts meant to be used every day.
Whether its stitching for beauty, comfort or both, I love every stitch of the process.
